If you love seafood then Prince William and Manassas, an area about 45 minutes from Washington DC in Northern Virginia, should be your next trip. Bring the stretchy pants for meals of crab cakes, mussel bowls, lobster claws, fresh fish sandwiches, clam chowders, and salmon benedicts.

Fill your days with lots of sightseeing, go for a hike in the Bull Run Mountains or Prince William Forest Park, go canoeing in Leesylvania State Park; whatever you do, be active so you can thoroughly enjoy all the different seafood options at every meal.

Our favorite spots to eat Seafood in Northern Virginia:

Tom’s Rivershore: This laid back fishing barn restaurant is located right on the Potomac River in Woodbridge, Virginia, Tom’s Rivershore has an unbeatable location. Our favorite time to visit is right before sunset so you can enjoy your dinner with the changing of the sky. Order the crab balls for the table to start, and if you’re looking for a twist on traditional seafood meals, order the fish tacos. You will not be disappointed.

Madigan’s Waterfront– Again with a great location, this time dine on the outside patio overlooking the Occoquan River in Historic Occoquan. Madigan’s is great for families or your best guy friends, as the outdoor patio can be romantic or you can enjoy a NFL Football game. We love the crab Alfredo pasta, the shrimp and crab nachos, and soft shell crab sandwich.

Cock and Bowl: Also located in Historic Occoquan, Cock and Bowl offers a very European twist to the traditional seafood restaurant. Here, you have to order a mussel bowl. Served eight different ways, including the traditional white wine and garlic sauce to a more hearty sauce with bacon, spinach, onion and tomatoes, you’re sure to find one you love.

Katerina’s Greek Cuisine– While you might not immediately think Greek food for great seafood, hold tight. Katerina’s Greek Cuisine, located in Old Town Manassas, has an unbelievable seafood bruschetta and shrimp saganaki (baked shrimp, tomatoes, feta cheese, kefalotiri cheese, sand served with pita bread).

Father and Son Seafood- Probably the most relaxed location on the list, Father and Son Seafood is located in a strip mall and you might pass it by if you didn’t know what type of food was served. Order Momma’s Platter to a little taste of everything- fried fish, shrimp, crab and clams.
