Córdoba is a large city that has a unique mix of city life and outdoorsy activities. There are several places just outside of Córdoba in Las Sierras de Córdoba that make for great weekend trips. These areas have plenty of adventures for anyone who loves an adrenaline rush. To get to these locations, visit the mini bus terminal at Av. Arturo Illia and Ituzaingó.

Alta Gracia

If you are a fan of adventure tourism, this is the place to visit. You can embark on a bicycle tours, go for a tandem skydive, paraglide over the mountains, hike around the trails and more. Córdoba boasts some amazing landscapes that only look more impressive from 12,000 feet in the air. Alta Gracia will give a rush as well as some incredible views. The Che Guevara museum is also found here and is certainly worth stopping by if you’re in the area.

Capilla del Monte

Capilla del Monte is an excellent choice for history buffs. This town holds a lot of history and there are still several historical buildings to prove it. For nature lovers, there are various short hikes available for beginners as well as full day hikes.

Carlos de la Paz

Carlos de la Paz is considered the most “touristy” location in Las Sierras. It’s a cute little town that is perfect for a scenic stroll, lazy day on the beach, or a quiet swim.

Parque Nacional Quebrada del Condorito

This gorgeous national park offers bicycle tours, hiking trails, bird watching, fishing, and campsites. Córdoba locals rave about this location and claim it’s an excellent place to go to escape the city and embrace the outdoors

La Cumbrecita

If the locals had to pick a favorite site in Las Sierras, it would probably be La Cumbrecita. The landscapes in this region are simply stunning. If you’re an experienced hiker, there are several advanced hiking trails to take on. For those of you who aren’t quite ready for the more difficult hikes, there are easier trails that are laid out to provide some lovely photo opportunities. La Cumbrecita is several hours outside the city by bus, so you’ll want to plan a longer stay here after the lengthy ride.

This is just a taste of some of the amazing outdoor adventures you can find in Las Sierras outside of Córdoba. If you want to have a truly authentic experience in Córdoba, you’ll need to visit Las Sierras for at least a day or two.
