If a long sandy beach is your idea of heaven, then you are going to fall in love with the idea of a Central American vacation. Here are some of the most beautiful beaches where you may well be the only soul making the most of all that white sand and crystalline water.
Coyos Cochinos (Hog Islands), Honduras
These incredibly pretty islands have no airport, no roads, no cars, and only one eco-resort, so if you’re looking to experience a truly remote beach trip, then you’ll need to catch a charter boat from Roatan to get here. The stunning beaches are connected by hiking trails, and a lighthouse to visit that provides wonderful views. The islands marine life is government protected since 1994 (there is an incredibly healthy reef to dive a snorkel on), and you’ll need to pay a park fee to visit.
South Water Caye, Belize
With a white sandy beach, and incredible diving and snorkeling at a reef you can easily swim to from the shore, this caye is worth seeking out (and you’ll have to make a bit of an effort to get there, or stay at one of only two resorts out there). If you’re looking for seclusion and pure bliss, this beautiful island will give you what you need.
Comarca Kuna Yala, Panama
Not one beach, per se, but more like many beaches across 350 picture postcard perfect islands that are fringed by palm trees, surrounded by perfect turquoise sea. Because the islands are looked after by the native Kuna people, visiting them is a cultural experience that only adds to this being a most memorable vacation.
Las Perlas Archipelago, Panama
Also known as the Pearl Islands, this collection of 100 islands in the Gulf of Panama are not overrun with visitors, and are all blessed with beaches as pretty as you could ever hope to see. You can either charter a boat or take a ferry from Panama City to get to them.
